General-purpose Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools can support many educational tasks, such as explaining ideas, generating examples, finding information, brainstorming, and creating learning materials. When used with a clear purpose and learning goal, they can be helpful. However, using AI without purpose or relying on it too much may weaken learning, memory, independent thinking, and productive struggle. Therefore, we should use these tools thoughtfully and consider research-based evidence about their benefits and potential risks.
